A significant student housing development on the doorstep of Memorial University is back on the St. John’s City Council agenda today.
The application from the company Werkliv would see three 6-storey apartment buildings built behind the Aquarena. In total, the apartment buildings would equate to 205 units for students.
Today, the city will vote on zoning changes needed for the development to proceed.
If approved, the changes will be sent to the provincial government for registration, concluding the municipal amendment process.
As well, when the application reaches the development stage, city staff will look at how sidewalk snowclearing will be prioritized for Lambe’s Lane given the pedestrian-oriented nature of the development.
