The Opposition says it will keep the House of Assembly open as long as possible until government comes up with more support to help people weather the rising cost of everything.
The Tories are pledging to pull out all the stops to keep debate going until the province coughs up more money, now, to deal with rising fuel prices and the overall cost of living.
They say simply considering more measures ignores the current struggles of many, particularly seniors.

Finance critic Tony Wakeham acknowledges the serious debt and deficit numbers, but insists government could easily shift figures to provide more relief immediately, especially when it comes to the gas tax.
Premier Andrew Furey did say the cost of living will be on the agenda when the prime minister arrives in the city tomorrow for the royal visit, thought the depth of that chat will be limited given they’ll only have about a half hour to chat.

Meanwhile, Fisheries Minister Derek Bragg says the decision on a processing license for the St. Mary’s plant will come within a month, describing it as the hardest call he’s had to make since becoming minister a year ago.
The licensing board has made a recommendation to Bragg but no one is saying what that is., with Bragg noting his mind changes daily on whether to approve the license.
He says he wants to meet again with the board to better understand why they made the recommendation that they did.
