For the province’s latest Set for Life winners, winning the top prize is no joke, even though at first they thought it was.
Marcie and Paul Bromley of Long Island are the winners, opting to take a lump-sum payment of $675,000.
Paul says when they first uncovered the three matching symbols on the scratch ticket, he thought someone had given them a novelty ticket and was playing a joke on them. However, the couple soon realized it wasn’t a joke and wanted to go get the ticket validated right away. They had to wait a short time as the store was closed.
The Bromleys are already retired, so the big priority for them is to help their daughters out and spoil their grandson. As well, they plan to buy a new side-by-side, travel to Ireland and Alaska and take a cruise.
