A consumer advocate does not expect any significant change in gas prices tomorrow but all signs point to a slight decrease. However, Dan McTeague, President of Canadians for Affordable Energy, forecasts a more significant drop in the price of diesel.
Gas jumped by 11 cents a litre Tuesday, catapulting the price to a record $2.25 on the Avalon with just slightly higher prices elsewhere.
McTeague says we are dangerously close to the unenviable position of having the costliest gasoline in the country. We are currently about 5 to 6 cents lower than Vancouver and Victoria. He expects their prices to drop over the next day or so.
