The provincial government has released its list of approved road and highway projects for the upcoming construction season, but one group is not happy a road they’ve been advocating for is not on the list.
Ray Murphy, chair of the Route 100 Improvement Committee, says his group has been advocating for improvements to the Argentia Access Road—about 45 km.
This year, he reveals the group applied to have a few kilometers of the roadway upgraded, but no funding was allocated.
Murphy says the group is “disappointed” and “flabbergasted” at the decision.
He says tourists will soon be driving over that road which he calls an embarrassment.
