Newfoundland and Labrador is still reporting around 50 cases of COVID-19 per day with around 14 people in hospital, but at this stage, those numbers are not cause for alarm.
That’s according to Dr. Lisa Barrett, a professor of medicine at Dalhousie.
Instead of alarmed, she likes to think that people are becoming more aware of COVID with more information out there.
That said, Barrett believes it is useful for people to realize that there still is a good bit of COVID in the community.
Does that mean people should be alarmed? “Maybe not” says Barrett, who notes that even though people can be badly affected by it, there’s lots of knowledge out there about how to protect against it.
