The winners of this year’s Wildfire Community Preparedness Day Award grants.
Seven municipalities, fire departments and community groups have been awarded funding through the program to help reduce the risk of wildfire damage.
The Terra Nova, St. Barbe-Pigeon Cove, Victoria, and Marystown Volunteer Fire Departments, the Towns of Hermitage-Sandy Cove and Englee, and the Sheaves Cove Recreation Committee have been named as this year’s recipients.
The winners will use the money to educate residents about practices that help reduce wildfire risk within the communities.
