VOCM is being recognized on the national level for journalistic excellence.
An “On Target” episode featuring Torngat Mountains MHA Lela Evans speaking on issues facing the residents of her district, including the impact of residential schools on her constituents and her own family, aired on Stingray’s “Day of Listening” last year and has been given a national RTDNA award under the News Information Program category.
Meanwhile, VOCM’s coverage of Hurricane Larry’s impact on the province, which recently won an RTDNA regional award, was nominated in the national Breaking News category.
