A Canadian family of five aviators, Mom, Dad and their three children landed on Fogo Island this week as part of their 5 in the Sky Around the World Expedition by single-engine aircraft.
The Porter family is trying to raise $1 million dollars for SOS Children’s Villages to support the work they do with orphaned children around the world.
The family group is also hoping to inspire people to pursue their dreams in all facets of aviation.
The group took off from Vancouver and is hoping to touch down in more than 50 countries worldwide before their 14-month expedition is complete sometime in August of 2023.
It was a pleasure to support this "around the world" private flight with a stopover in our great Province of Newfoundland and Labrador, to visit Fogo Island. #fogoislandinn #explorenl #newfoundland #hospitalitynl #ganderairport #alliedaviation #ThankYou pic.twitter.com/FqhkGKrB4p
