The Grand Falls-Windsor Lion’s Club is seeking another venue after the local Salvation Army Church objected to the inclusion of GF-W Pride in a weekly healthy living walk.

The Lion’s Club hosts weekly healthy living walks which take place every Thursday evening at the Salvation Army Park Street Citadel, but the church did not approve of the club inviting members of GF-W Pride to this week’s walk.

The Lions Club says the walk has been cancelled for the time being, and its partnership with the Salvation Army Park Street Citadel has been severed. Work is now underway to secure another venue for the healthy living walk.

The Lion’s Club has declined further comment for the time being.

VOCM News has reached out to the Salvation Army for comment, while a growing number of people have taken to the church’s Facebook page looking for a response to the turn of events.
