Thousands of Newfoundlanders and Labradorians and visitors alike are expected to take to the water this summer to jig a few cod fish for the table.
The recreational groundfish fishery reopens today and runs every Saturday, Sunday and Monday until September 5th.
Area Chief of Conservation and Protection with DFO, Melissa Abbott says the rules remain the same.
There is a daily bag limit of five groundfish per person per day and a boat limit of 15 fish per trip when three or more people are fishing.
