The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is looking to crack down on aggressive driving and illegal vehicle modifications this summer.
As the weather continues to heat up, more people will travel throughout communities and highways. RNC Traffic Services and Operational Patrol Services will partner with Highway Enforcement to ensure roadways remain safe.
Police say speeding, stunting, distracted driving, and impaired driving continue to put people at risk across the province, and illegal vehicle modifications that increase noise output remain an issue.
The RNC is asking anyone who witnesses impaired or aggressive driving, or illegal vehicle modifications to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
They are also asking residents not to post about police checkpoints on social media, so as to not allow offenders to continue to put the community at risk.
