The Single Parent Association of Newfoundland has received a $50,000 dollar donation from the management and staff of RothLochston for a day of recreational and entertainment activities.
The cheque presentation was made yesterday afternoon.
RothLochston says the donation is part of a program to allow families, especially children, have fun by enjoying a day of entertainment at the Rec Room, movie passes, and swimming at the local YMCA.
President Marty Gregory says families will also be treated to lunch.
The Executive Director of SPAN, Sonya Smith, says the donation comes at an important time as families struggle with the steady increase in the cost of living, leaving them very little money to enjoy some fun and recreation.
