If you thought the month of July has been dry on the eastern portion of the island, you’d be right.
The average rainfall at YYT in the month of July is in the range of 91 mm, but so far this month only 16 mm have been recorded, most of which fell on July 7th.
Meteorologist Jim Prime says not to worry though, while things are dry right now, it only takes one significant rainfall to get those numbers back up to normal.
He says there’s a slight chance of showers moving through the Avalon Friday, with scattered showers in Central. The next good chance for precipitation for all parts of the island is early next week from Monday through to Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Prime says, the west coast has seen some unusually wet and rainy weather so far this month with Stephenville recording over 90 mm to date.
