Harbour Grace RCMP believe alcohol is the cause of two ATV crashes in the past 24 hours.
The first occurred Sunday in Northern Bay around suppertime when a 24-year-old man was thrown from his quad while speeding and weaving in and out of traffic.
He was not wearing a helmet and was rushed to Carbonear hospital in serious condition.
He faces charges of impaired and dangerous driving.
The second incident occurred around 4 a.m. this morning when a teenager flipped his quad on Harvey Street in Harbour Grace.
Police say he got back on and fled the scene, but was tracked to Water Street where his ATV broke down and he was taken into custody.
He was first treated for minor injuries before being charged with flight from police, refusing the breathalyzer, impaired driving and and breach of probation.
