Due to the physician shortage, two health centres on the west coast are being supported through a virtual ER.

The most significant level of support is being provided to the Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders.

There, virtual ER support will be in place for the next few weeks, until Monday, September 5.

As well, virtual ER support will be in place for the rest of the day at the Bonne Bay Health Centre, until 8 a.m. tomorrow, and then again on Thursday from 8 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.

During these times there will be a health care provider on-site to support patient care and assist with virtual care.

Residents in these areas requiring emergency services are asked to call 911 or proceed to the nearest health centre.
