More woods roads in central Newfoundland have been reopened to the public after being closed due to forest fires in the region.
Forest access roads in the Miguel Lake area are now open. However, public access to areas beyond the fire line is still prohibited.
That includes the specific area along Great Rattling River road from inside Whales Back to Louse Lake, known locally as 45 Road.
People planning to travel the forest access roads in the vicinity of the fires are urged to check the map below to confirm areas that are accessible.
The Bay d’Espoir Highway, or Route 360, continues to remain open to traffic.
However, forest access roads around northwest Gander, including the North West Gander forest access road, remain closed as forest fire crews continue to work in the area.
