We’re into the dying days of August but you wouldn’t know it by the weather, at least on the island.
It has been rainy in Many parts of Labrador with the wind off the ocean, but it’s a different story on the island where temperatures will be in the mid to high twenties for most of the week according to Environment Canada.
Meteorologist Wanda Batten says heat warnings are possible for parts of the island – a heat warning being a daytime temperature of at least 28 degrees and a minimum of 16 overnight.
Such warnings are possible on the northeast coast and west coast as well as in central Newfoundland as the temperature could reach 30 degrees.
