The big game rifle-hunting season begins today in most parts of the province and at least one young woman in Chapel Arm can’t wait to get out there.
Eighteen-year-old Taylor Reid has been going into the woods with her dad since she was small and “got hooked on it.” She’s been snaring rabbits for as long as she can remember and shot her first moose when she was 16.
She got her first charity license last year.
She got her moose, dressed it, and donated the meat to charity which used it for fundraising.
While she loves hunting, she admits many of her young friends don’t share the interest.
The province is now allowing Sunday hunting, which started with the bow hunt in late August.
