A concerning and unusual advisory from RNC last night.
The Constabulary issued a warning around 10 p.m. after responding to two “random attacks” in the St. John’s area, one which resulted in serious injury.
The first happened just before 8 p.m. in the Beaumont Street area in the west of downtown. RNC believe that the suspects knocked on the door of a residence, then forced their way in. They took the homeowner’s vehicle, a grey 2012 Honda Civic licence plate number JPB 113. The man in the home was rushed to the Health Sciences with serious injuries.
About 20 minutes after that incident, people forced their way into a home on Maunder’s Lane in the east end and assaulted the residents inside. Residents of that house were also taken to hospital with injuries.
Police say the suspects are carrying a weapon, so if you see the suspect vehicle, do not approach but call the RNC 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-8477.
