Pharmacies in Newfoundland and Labrador expect to begin receiving the new Bivalent vaccine for COVID next week. Patients are asked to keep in mind that supply will be limited for the first few weeks.
Keith Bailey, a pharmacist with Shoppers Drug Mart, expects to be in a position to begin administering the Moderna vaccine around mid-week but it will take some time to be fully up and running.
It’s also flu season. The province hasn’t seen many cases over the past two years but most COVID restrictions are no longer in place.
He says to keep in mind that most Canadians can do the flu shot and COVID vaccine at the same time. That’s not necessarily the case for people under the age of 12 but most others can get the two shots at the same time.
