The town of Twillingate is responding to some criticism being levied against them regarding tickets for the upcoming Kraft Hockeyville NHL exhibition game.
The Montreal Canadiens are set to take on the Ottawa Senators on October 6 at the Steele Community Centre in Gander.
As the winners of Kraft Hockeyville 2020, the town of Twillingate is responsible for distributing tickets for the game.
In a statement, town representative Jeff Blackler says they have received some “very upsetting and negative reactions” to their ticketing plan announcement, and the town hears and understands the frustration.
Blackler says they received a much lower number of tickets for both the game and practices than they had hoped due to capacity restrictions, resulting in what he calls “some very, very difficult decisions,” noting that it would be impossible to include everyone who would like to be involved.
He notes that the full Kraft Hockeyville Community Celebration Plan has yet to be announced, and they fully intend on having New World Island included.
As for the ticketing plan, Blackler says they are working to find a way to alleviate some of the disappointment that has been caused.
