Most of us have been in situations where we spend as much time looking for an accessory for an electronic device as much as we spend on the device itself.
That’s going to change in Europe where Parliament has resolved to adopt a uniform standard for phone chargers by the end of 2024. The move has been a long time coming and other countries are expected to follow suit.
Technology blogger Kevin Andrews says one reason for the change is to do with the amount of e-waste created by cell accessories.
Andrews believes another reason for the change would be the ability to make all USB-C-supported devices capable of fast charging. He says that currently, fast charging is fast for some devices but not for others.
