A forensic sculptor, who has ties to this province, has teamed up with PBS for a facial reconstruction project that is fit for a king.
The ruler in question is none other than King Tutankhamun, perhaps the most famous of the Egyptian Pharaohs.
Christian Corbet, who once lived in Corner Brook, has teamed up with PBS to do a facial reconstruction of Tut for an upcoming documentary.
Corbet, who also does work with the Royal Canadian Navy, Royal Newfoundland Regiment, and the University of Western Ontario says he was first approached in January to work on the project.
Typically, he would be given around 10 months for such a project, but King Tut was completed in less than three weeks.
Corbet says they had to use Egyptian tissue markers, something that has never been done before in any digital reconstruction.
Corbet describes recreating the features of the Egyptian Boy King as a bizarre and magical moment.
The documentary will air on PBS on November 23.
