The NLTA says the one thing that government needs to fix “ASAP” is payroll problems being encountered by some teachers.
Union President Trent Langdon says they’re hearing from teachers every week indicating they’re having trouble getting paid.
They have mortgages to pay and car payments, says Langdon, and “it’s just not good enough.”
Education Minister John Haggie says they’re working on the issue.
He told the House of Assembly that as of yesterday there were no outstanding claims for payment by teachers with government.
