The town of Bay Roberts has won an award that celebrates the community’s efforts to beautify the area.
The town has been crowned national champion in the 6,001 to 20,000 population category of the Communities in Bloom symposium.
Bay Roberts received a special mention for the reconstruction of the Three Sisters area on the Shoreline Heritage Trail.
The contest saw judges evaluate the town on the overall contributions of the municipal council and departments, industry, businesses, and the private sector on community appearance, environmental action, heritage conservation, tree management, landscape and plant displays.
Bay Roberts is only the third community from the province to win the award.
