The City of St. John’s is expected to make some changes to parking regulations and ticketing by-laws.

The changes are to accommodate the installation of charging stations for electric vehicles in the downtown area.

Single spaces will be designated for EVs only to allow access to charging stations. Paid parking regulations will still apply.

Any vehicle that parks in a designated spot and is not charging up will be subject to a fine of $60 dollars under the city’s ticketing by-law.
