The House of Assembly has officially launched a Commissions of Inquiry and Royal Commissions Database.
The database, which is available on the House of Assembly website, includes records related to Commissions of Inquiry and Royal Commissions conducted for or on Newfoundland and Labrador since 1833.
It includes listings from the Legislative Library, as well as the collections of other institutions including Newfoundland and Labrador Public Libraries, MUN, and The Rooms Provincial Archives.
It does not include marine, judicial, industrial, magisterial, or other inquiries initiated under different authorities.
Search results on the website will include any physical holdings related to a particular commission/inquiry and will include links to electronic records where possible.
According to government, the site will be updated and maintained on an ongoing basis as more documents are uncovered.
