The province has appointed a new Associate Chief Judge.

Judge Jennifer Mercer has been named Associate Chief Judge of the Provincial Court of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Mercer graduated from Dalhousie Law in 1997 and was called to the bar in this province in 1998. She previously practiced in Labrador before being appointed Deputy Minister of Justice and Public Safety in October 2018. She was appointed as a judge in Happy Valley-Goose Bay in July 2021.
