End Homelessness St. John’s has released its annual update for 2021-22 and it outlines some of the priority areas as the community learns to live with COVID-19.
End Homelessness St. John’s says 117 people stayed at their dedicated COVID-19 isolation site in 2021-22, but the wind-down of that operation will allow staff to work with a Coordinated Access to Homes Outreach Team. More details on how that will work will be available in the first quarter of 2022-23.
Among the achievements over the last year was the success of the HomeConnect program which helped to provide 22,000 days of housing for over 90 people with 18 landlords.
End Homelessness St. John’s says it is working toward a better coordinated response through a shared database system that will improve information sharing between agencies and reduce the need for people to tell their story multiple times.
