A 48-year-old man is facing a number of serious charges following a single vehicle crash on the Northern Peninsula on the weekend.
Port Saunders RCMP responded to a report of a crash just north of the town around 9 p.m. Saturday. The driver, who was suspended from driving, appeared impaired and became aggressive towards police.
RCMP say the driver assaulted and uttered threats to an officer while resisting arrest.
He’s been charged with impaired driving, assaulting a police officer, uttering threats, and resisting arrest. His vehicle was seized and impounded and his driver’s licence was suspended again.
