Heavenly Creatures has kicked off its yearly pet food and donation drive, and the organization is counting on the initiative being a success to help get them though the next couple of months.
Co-founder and director of Heavenly Creatures, Jessica Rendell, explains that in addition to providing food and care to the animals they have, they also run a pet food bank for low income pet owners.
Rendell says they go through a lot of food in the run of a year, and most of their donations come in around this time of year to help them get through the winter.
She says inflation has played a factor, noting that times are tough and that is being reflected in the requests they’re seeing for help.
Rendell says they are in need of monetary donations as well.
She says they spent about $17,000 last month alone in vet bills, and they are currently dealing with two more medical emergencies. They appreciate the public support.
