There’s a unique toy drive happening in St. John’s tomorrow. Steele Hotels and Olympic Construction have teamed up for the “Truck Load of Toys” campaign with toys being placed in a bucket of a tower crane.
Organizer Sonya Smith, executive director of the Single Parents’ Association, says the tower crane will be near the JAG Hotel downtown St. John’s and hope to fill the bucket with every gift imaginable.
Smith says people are invited to fill it with toys, non-perishable food items, money or cheques as volunteers will be on hand.
They have helped some 400 families so far. DRL will help distribute the donations all over the province.
The drive takes place from 9-12 tomorrow (December 17).
