Governments are gathering to agree on a new set of goals to guide global action through 2030 to halt and reverse nature loss.

This year’s conference is focused on protecting nature with the adoption of a global biodiversity framework addressing the main drivers of nature loss.

NL Program Director of the Nature Conservancy of Canada, Piers Evans, says a recent survey they commissioned shows the vast majority of Canadians support action to preserve nature.

What they found was that an overwhelming majority of Canadians asked feel that sense of urgency and want to see action and implementation of targets set at previous meetings which are now being discussed in Montreal.
