Eastern Health has awarded more than $44,000 dollars in scholarships to a number of employees and their dependants.

Interim President and CEO Kenneth Baird says the healthcare industry is continuously changing and evolving and scholarships are provided to promote lifelong learning.

A variety of scholarships are available to staff, their dependants and eligible post-secondary students in the Eastern Health region.

Scholarships were awarded this year to 19 employees, 14 dependants of staff and two Quality Healthcare recipients.
