Public Health is dismantling its PCR testing clinics across the province.
The clinics are being taken down after the distribution of Rapid Antigen Tests to homes across Newfoundland and Labrador.
Those who have appointments booked at testing clinics will be contacted to advise of changes. Closing the clinics will allow assigned staff to return to normal duties in other areas of the health system.
Public testing sites could be reinstated, as necessary, depending on epidemiology.
The province is distributing two COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test kits, containing five tests each, to every household through Canada Post.
Tests are also available at public libraries and MHA offices across the province.
People with symptoms of COVID-19 are asked to stay at home until their symptoms have improved and they haven’t had a fever for 24 hours.
If you suspect you have COVID-19, test and if negative and you still have symptoms, test again in 48 hours.
