The City of St. John’s is planning a blast at Robin Hood Bay at 8:00 this morning.
The blast, which was originally set for Sunday afternoon, had to be rescheduled due to the weather.
The blast will occur at the east end of the landfill site, in the quarry area.
The rock produced by the blasting activity is being used as part of a contract awarded to Capital Ready-Mix.
Marshalls will be stationed along the East Coast Trail to warn hikers, and the general public is being asked to avoid the area.
