There will be no change in the mil rate in Grand Falls-Windsor in 2023, but there will be an increase in the water and sewer tax.
Councillor Holly Dwyer introduced the town’s $21 million budget at last night’s council meeting.
The water and sewer tax in Grand Falls-Windsor will increase from $475 to $545 for both residential and commercial properties. The increase will help to offset planned upgrades to the town’s water distribution system in the downtown, Bank Road, Circular Road and Union Street areas.
Other highlights include funds set aside for street resurfacing, more pedestrian crossing lights, equipment to improve the quality of the town’s baseball and softball fields and a new kayak floating dock to make it easier for enthusiasts to enjoy the Exploits River.
