A storm brewing in the Great Lakes will make its way to Newfoundland and Labrador just in time for Saturday – Christmas Eve.
Environment Canada has issued a public weather alert for the entire island and most of Labrador as that system will reach us early on Christmas Eve.
Meteorologist Dale Foote says it will dump snow on Labrador and parts of the Northern Peninsula but most of the island will be rainy and windy.
Foote says most of Labrador will have a white Christmas and possibly parts of the west coast, but there’s a low probability of anything but a green Christmas in the east including the Avalon.
Environment Canada notes there’s potential for widespread travel impacts.
