Walk-in services at the Waterford Hospital’s Psychiatric Assessment Unit will be temporarily redirected to St. Clare’s emergency after Christmas.

The diversion will be in place from Wednesday, December 28 to Tuesday, January 17.

Eastern Health says patients who present at St. Clare’s may still be transferred to the Psychiatric Assessment Unit for psychiatric consultation if necessary.

Patients with a medical emergency who require an ambulance should call 911, while those who are experiencing a mental health crisis or who need mental health support should call the Health Line at 811.
