This Christmas season is the closest to normal the province has seen since the pre-pandemic days, but as COVID, flu, RSV and other viruses are widely circulating, the province’s Chief Medical Officer of Health is cautioning that people should still keep safety top of mind.
Dr. Janice Fitzgerald says her advice for the holidays is the same as it has been for the last two years—get vaccinated, wash your hands, and stay home if sick.
Don’t bring COVID, flu, or RSV to a party, says Dr. Fitzgerald. If someone was unwell but their symptoms have started to subside, they can gather with others, but she suggests wearing a mask for 10 days.
