The joint venture building the acute care hospital in Corner Brook has raised over $11,000 for people impacted by Hurricane Fiona.
PCL Construction and the Marco Group Ltd. rallied after the hurricane ripped through the southwest coast, washing away homes and rendering many others uninhabitable.
Included in the effort were a raffle and direct donations to the cause.
Jenn Sutherland, PCL-Marco superintendent, says the hospital team has experienced first-hand the sense of community Newfoundland and Labrador shares, especially in times of need.
Charles Gunning, construction manager for the venture, says they are driven by the purpose of building a better future together.
The 7-storey, 6,000 sq. ft. hospital will be largely completed by late next fall with an opening planned for 2024.
