It has been a long journey but Conception Bay South will be getting its new library early in the new year.
For decades the library operated out of a small building next to the old town hall in Manuels but the new facility will be next to the new town hall in Long Pond.
Mayor Darrin Bent says the keys will be handed over to the Library Board in a month or so. There are currently 8,000 users of the resources centre.
The old library was a small facility but it served its purpose, says the mayor. The new facility has room space, area studying space, and all the regular library features including computer terminals.
