It was a rebounding year for tourism in the province’s west coast city.
That’s according to Mayor Jim Parsons, who says Corner Brook saw great results from their efforts to increase tourism following the pandemic.
He says they saw thousands of tourists and a record cruise year with around 40,000 visitors coming via ship.
One such effort was the STAR initiative, which saw the city partner with other municipalities and businesses in the Bay of Islands and Humber Valley area.
Parsons says they are looking for additional funding to grow the program.
He says they are looking into branding and marketing to learn how to capitalize on the natural beauty of the area.
