Overnight winter parking restrictions are now in effect in the capital city.

Starting tonight, vehicles will no longer be allowed to park on the street outside the downtown area between 12:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. regardless of the weather and road conditions.

In the downtown, vehicles are not permitted to park on the street between 4:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. regardless of street or snow conditions. That includes Water Street from Waldegrave to Prescott and Duckworth Street from New Gower to Cochrane.

The parking restrictions are in place to make sure plows can clear streets safely and effectively.
