The MHA for the region says there’s still a lot of work ahead in Port aux Basques which was devastated by the wrath of Hurricane Fiona in September.
Andrew Parsons says while a lot of people are in the process of picking up the pieces, a lot more work is yet to be done.
Many residents will be moving into a new sub-division in Port aux Basques which, Parsons says, requires a lot of planning.
“You don’t just put a house somewhere,” says Parsons, as they have to have the infrastructure in place. The same is true in places like Burnt Islands and Margaree where new homes will need to be built.
