The province is working on setting up a royalty regime for the export of hydrogen.
Energy Minister Andrew Parsons says they’re starting virtually from scratch.
He says there isn’t a lot of precedent when it comes to hydrogen royalties.
He says there is literally one other hydrogen framework in the world, and that’s in Oman. They’re trying to set up a system that puts value on the resources being used and gets the province value from the companies involved, without overpricing the resource and scaring business away.
