Another diversion is in place for obstetrical patients and urgent surgical services, this time on the Burin Peninsula.
Eastern Health says the temporary lack of anesthesiology services at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre means some patients might have to transfer to another hospital for the next few days.
From now until 8 a.m. Monday, patients who require obstetrical services or urgent surgery will be assessed and transferred elsewhere if necessary.
Eastern Health says if those patients happen to be closer to Clarenville or St. John’s, they should travel there for assessment instead.
