RCMP in Happy Valley-Goose Bay are asking for the public’s assistance after reports of a flare being fired Sunday evening from a wooded area in the vicinity of the Memorial Bridge where the Trans Labrador Highway intersects with Route 510.
The RNC, who are also investigating the firing of a flare in the Churchill Falls area, say around 6:00 p.m. Sunday, a flare was seen around 40 km’s west of Churchill Falls in the area of Esker Road.
Local ground search and rescue teams were called to area to conduct a search. Police are asking anyone with information on who may have set off the flare to contact RCMP (at 896-3383) or the RNC at 709-944-7602.
