The MHA for the area is asking for the capital city to re-evaluate its position on the way to deal with nuisance lighting in the Outer Battery neighbourhood of St. John’s.
John Abbott says his phones are continuing to ring from constituents fed up with the apparent lack of action on the escalating problem. Christina Smith told VOCM News this week that a resident has added more lighting to his property.
The lights are excessively bright say neighbours and shine day and night, disrupting their sleep and the enjoyment of their properties.
Abbott says the province is willing to help if necessary.
He says the Minister of Municipal and Provincial Affairs is ready and willing to act if requested by the city.
I mean, that light is this bright from the top of Cabot Place. That’s wild. pic.twitter.com/9zbdFrY0aV
